On May 26, Center for CSR Development expert organization and Career Hub in partnership with First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB), the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine held the fourth regional conference of My Career in Ukraine Competition for students of 10th grades of secondary schools of Ukraine.

My Career in Ukraine is an all-Ukrainian project which provides opportunities for self-realization of youth in Ukraine, inspires professional development and creates a platform for passing on the experience of successful people to the young generation. In 2020, we received around 1,000 essays from tenth-graders about their future profession. The authors of 360 best works will take part in 6 regional meetings, and the 60 most active will be invited to the All-Ukrainian Conference in Kyiv, where the tenth-graders will meet famous people and discuss their future professions.

Maryna Saprykina, the head of the Center for CSR Development, motivated the participants at the opening of the conference and stressed the importance of "own" profession: “One of the values of the Center is passion in everything we do, and it is available precisely because we love our work. If you like to write poetry, it is one profession; if you like to count, it is another. If you choose a profession where you will do exactly what you like, you will not work a single day in your life.”

At the regional conference “My Career in Ukraine”, 60 authors of the best essays of Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava and Luhansk regions met with the top managers of national companies and received career guidance tips from them.

Tetiana Poltavska, the head of FUIB's North-Eastern Regional Center, identified qualities that will help build one's career: “Activity and initiative are your keys to success. Constant development and improvement of your skills. I was going to my goal for a long time; I started working on it in school. Today, I have been able to build a great career in banking and find the business I live for.”

Vadym Khachatryan, the director of Synergy Science Park, drew attention to the acquisition of useful skills: “Take the opportunity to express and speak in your schools, do not be afraid and do not be ashamed. In the future, those who know how to develop and present their idea will succeed, and the funds for its implementation will definitely be found!”

Oleh Khardin, an entrepreneur and founder of Premier Socks, focused on the type of thinking in the future: "I am a 100% entrepreneur! Why the production of socks? And tell me, who does not wear them? I cannot say exactly what the professions of the future will be, but entrepreneurial thinking will definitely come in handy for everyone!”

This year, the TOP-5 professions included: doctor, journalist, teacher, programmer and lawyer. Despite the fact that the conference took place in an unusual online format, the organizers managed to preserve the unique atmosphere that prevailed at the offline meetings. Participants gladly shared their emotions after the conference and told how it affected their career plans.

“The conference was very cool! We got a lot of impressions and new acquaintances. Thank you all for a great opportunity. This project charges and motivates for future growth!” says the participant of the regional online conference “My career in Ukraine” Yulia Matsak

During the conference, participants also took part in the Bank of the Future game which was adapted to the new online reality. Thanks to it, tenth-graders got acquainted with the trends of the future. Students presented their ideas for solving the 7 biggest challenges: climate change, overpopulation, digitalization, robotics, attention to health issues, overload with information and the threat of pandemics.
