Shoulder to shoulder with those holding the front line: Kyiv’s "Teplokrovni" donor hub brings friends together for a blood drive ahead of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine

On October 1 and 2, to mark the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, PUMB, Mastercard, and the Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theatre invite Kyiv residents and visitors to the capital to donate blood at the "Teplokrovni" mobile donor hub.

Defenders Day is about mutual support. Even if not everyone wears a military uniform today, we are all part of the same system defending the country. Every act of assistance from the home front creates an invisible yet strong bond with those holding the line. The simplest—and at the same time, very tangible—way to lend a hand to those defending Ukraine is to donate blood. It is needed daily by wounded soldiers and civilians alike.

"Teplokrovni" is a joint initiative by PUMB and Mastercard, in partnership with the NGOs "Agents of Blood" and DonorUA. It features a 13-meter double-decker bus: the ground floor houses an interactive exhibition on the amazing power of our blood, while the upper deck serves as a comfortable donation zone staffed by professional medical teams.

Fuel partner UKRNAFTA ensures the hub's mobility; thanks to the company's fuel, the "Teplokrovni" bus can travel seamlessly across Ukraine's regions, bringing blood donation services to wherever they are needed.

You can have your blood type determined daily from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The interactive exhibition will be open all three days—from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Admission is free.

Share your strength — and receive a token of gratitude

The Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theatre has joined the initiative. It has prepared performance invitations for donors—a way for the "Teplokrovni"  project partners to thank those who make the time to contribute to saving lives.

More than just a donation: a space for support

The organizers have ensured a comfortable donation experience. A cozy "care zone" featuring lounge chairs and hot tea will be set up near the hub, offering a place to rest and recharge.

Visitors will also be able to:

• sign a thank-you card for Ukrainian soldiers;
• attend a first aid workshop led by representatives of the "Hospitallers" medical battalion;
• craft a special leather talisman bracelet—for themselves and for those defending us—as a symbol of support, gratitude, and a connection to Ukraine, while also learning leather-decorating techniques.

Since its launch, the hub has visited 44 locations across Ukraine. A total of 4,541 donors have given blood, collecting 2,043 liters—potentially saving over 13,000 lives.

"Teplokrovni" proves once again that when people, businesses, NGOs, and institutions unite, we can multiply each other's strength.
