PUMB and Mastercard Announce a Unique Initiative in Ukraine to Support and Develop Blood Donation

Starting November 1, PUMB launches a Gratitude Program in the PUMB app: blood donors who hold a Mastercard® card from PUMB will receive increased cashback rewards from the bank and from socially responsible Ukrainian businesses that have joined the initiative. The project partners are the leading nonprofit organizations DonorUA and Blood Agents.
The shortage of donor blood in Ukraine has become even more critical since the start of the war. Even before 2022, the country faced a severe deficit — with only 11 donors per 1,000 people instead of the required 33. After the full-scale invasion, the need for blood donations has become even more urgent.
Recognizing its responsibility to millions of Ukrainians, PUMB set a clear mission — not to let the enemy drain the country’s lifeblood. Since then, the bank has implemented a range of initiatives to support blood donation and save lives: the “We Are One Blood” charity merch project, the “Independence Is in Our Blood” donor truck, and most recently, in partnership with Mastercard, the “Warm-Blooded” mobile donation hub.
The Gratitude Program is the next logical step in PUMB’s strategy as a bank that saves lives. The initiative aims not only to collect blood but also to attract new donors and build a culture of regular blood donation in Ukraine.
