Top managers shared their experience with teenagers at the regional conference held within the framework of “My Career in Ukraine” project in Zaporizhzhia

On April 12, FUIB, the Center for CSR Development and Career Hub held the third regional meeting in Zaporizhzhia with 50 finalists of the first stage of the essay competition for tenth-graders “My Future Profession: Planning and Development”. The competition is held within the framework of “My Career in Ukraine” project.

The third out of five regional meetings took place in Zaporizhzhia.city Hub. Tenth-graders from Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions became participants of this meeting. Teenagers said about their future profession: a girl who dreams of becoming a criminal law expert, a boy who dreams of becoming a makeup artist – no gender stereotypes. Some of the participants also wanted to become agriculturists, journalists, doctors, scientists, inventors, managers, programmers, and even social entrepreneurs.

During the discussion “Life-hacks from the tops: how to build a successful career”, participants received good advices from the guests: Rostyslav Shurma, general director of “Zaporizhstal” PJSC; Olena Masliyenko, the head of FUIB regional center “Tsentralnyi”; Oleksandr Riepkin, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tokmak Solar Energy LLC, president of the “Ukrainian Hydrogen Council” energy association; Olha Vakalo, a journalist who heads the editorial board of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine; Askad Ashurbekov, the head of the “Independent Researching Group” sociological company, advisor on decentralization at the Center for Local Self-Government Development (“U-LEAD with Europe” program).

Olena Masliyenko, the head of FUIB regional center “Tsentralnyi”, told teenagers what is happening today in the teams of Ukrainian companies: “A team is an extremely important thing. All serious decisions in the bank are made by a team, after lengthy discussions. We are very powerful, when we are together. When we are in a team we develop and change. We measure the level of employees' satisfaction, find out what people need in order to be happy. We make a lot of investments in employees' education and career growth. Work should bring pleasure and be a source of happy moments”.

The next meetings with the finalists of the competition are scheduled to take place in Lviv and Odesa. On May 30, 2019, the All-Ukrainian conference on career planning will be held in Kyiv, which will become the Day on which dreams about a career will come true for the winners, and on May 31, winners will have a unique opportunity to spend one day with their heroes who are experts in the professions they have chosen!
