The shortened trading week on the American stock market, which was connected with Thanksgiving Day, did not restrain new record-highs spurred by the overall optimistic mood regarding the coronavirus vaccines, the recovery of global economy and the well-ordered handover of power in the US. The Dow Jones Industrial Average set a new record-high on Tuesday, 24 November, and reached 30,046.24 points. The S&P 500 Index closed with a new record-high of 3,638.35 points on Black Friday, 27 November
