"Teplokrovni" united 222 donors for Independence Day, collected 99.9 liters of blood, potentially saving 666 lives

Five days, 222 donors, 42 of whom became donors for the first time, almost 100 liters of blood and 666 potentially saved lives - this was the result of the work of the "Teplokrovni" mobile donor hub on Kontraktova Square in Kyiv. From August 20 to 24, Ukrainians participated in donation within the framework of a special initiative for the Independence Day of Ukraine, urging each other to "Add your +1 to donation."

The project was initiated by FUIB and Mastercard in partnership with the NGO "DonorUA", "Blood Agents" and media partner "1+1 Ukraine". Its main idea is to encourage people to come to donate not alone, but together with friends, family or colleagues. After all, the support of loved ones helps to make donation a regular joint affair.

For five days, a specially equipped 13-meter two-story mobile hub operated on Kontraktova Square. Its operation was provided by the fuel partner, the largest gas station network UKRNAFTA.

On the first floor of the hub, visitors could see an interactive exhibition about donation and its role in saving lives. On the second floor, there was a donation zone, where a professional medical team accepted blood.

Over five days, 222 people became donors and donated 99.9 liters of blood. According to the assessment adopted for the project, this is enough to potentially save 666 lives. The collected blood will be used for the needs of military hospitals and civilian medical institutions.

The “1+1 Ukraine” team also joined the initiative. The hosts of “Breakfast with 1+1” Nelya Shovkoplyas, Yegor Gordeyev, Ruslan Senichkin, Lyudmila Barbir, Valentyna Khamayko and Oleksandr Popov joined the donation.

A special part of the event was the program of gratitude to donors. Every day, partners prepared gifts and special offers for them. The initiative was joined by Svitlo Concert, the Academic Theater “Kyiv Modern Ballet”, the restaurant chain “Tbiliso”, the National Center “Ukrainian House”, the cinema chain “Multiplex” and the cafe “U podrugy”.

“Teplokrovni” continue to develop the culture of regular donation in Ukraine and remind: you can join in saving lives not only in an emergency. Sometimes it is enough to do your +1 — come to the donation yourself and invite someone else with you.

The next donation will be on August 29 at “Arena City” in Kyiv, near The Cake.
