The National Bank, FUIB and UAnimals are launching a new wave of the #PowerCoins charity coin collection campaign

The National Bank of Ukraine, UAnimals, partner banks FUIB and Oschadbank initiated the start of a new wave of the annual charity coin collection campaign "#PowerCoins" to help animals affected by the war.

Over the next three months, from September 7 to November 30, 2026, inclusive, the collection of coins in denominations of 10, 50 kopecks and 1, 2, 5 and 10 hryvnias will continue throughout Ukraine. The funds collected will be transferred to the needs of evacuated animals in shelters and animals in front-line regions. The partner banks of the campaign are Oschadbank and FUIB.

What will the funds raised be used for?

• Food for Evacuated Animals – Purchase of food for animals rescued from the war zone, which will allow to provide shelters and temporary holding points with food.
• Treatment of wounded and sick animals – Funding of veterinary care, surgeries, medicines, rehabilitation and basic vaccinations for animals that have suffered injuries or illnesses as a result of the war.
• Aviaries and shelter facilities – Purchase of materials and equipment to create or expand safe places in shelters that are ready to accept animals from evacuation.

At the same time, the charity campaign "#PowerCoins" is not only about raising funds, but also about developing a culture of charity, which is an integral part of financial culture.

"A component of high financial culture is charity. We want young people to understand and share this value, because mutual assistance during the struggle for freedom has become our main strength. Every donation or good deed is a chance for salvation and a safe life for those who suffered from the war but cannot ask for help themselves. Our task is to teach children not just to manage money, but to see it as a tool for spreading goodness. We invite young people to join our initiative, make their contribution and turn ordinary coins into real help," exhort Yulia Yevtushenko, Director of the Communications Department of the National Bank.

The "#PowerCoins" charity campaign is primarily aimed at children and youth, who have repeatedly demonstrated their activity in previous charity campaigns organized by the National Bank. Thus, last year, more than 115 thousand children, students and educators from all over Ukraine joined the charity coin collection.

"We want children and youth to grow up not with the feeling that big problems are solved by someone else, but with an understanding of their own ability to influence them. One coin seems like an insignificant action, but it shows each child the result of their actions - the saved lives of animals. It is from such an experience that responsible citizenship begins," noted Olga Matsko, Head of the UAnimals Strategic Initiatives Department.

Director of the Collection and Cash Circulation Department of FUIB Bank Andriy Bodian added: “During a war, it is especially important not to lose sensitivity to those who cannot take care of themselves. Animals in the war zone need our help just like anyone else who is in danger. Each coin is a small contribution from an individual, but together they turn into real support and saved lives. This is how the power of shared concern works.”

How to join the initiative?

To join the campaign, you need to collect coins (in denominations of 10, 50 kopecks and 1, 2, 5 and 10 hryvnias) and take them to the nearest branch of the bank - a partner of the campaign (Oschadbank and FUIB) from September 7 to November 30, 2026. The bank will transfer these funds to the account of the "UAnimals" fund.

Groups can join the campaign and collect coins in educational institutions, enterprises, organizations and other institutions. This will allow all caring citizens to take part in raising funds and help save the lives of animals affected by the war.

The special information portal contains the addresses of all partner bank branches, where citizens can transfer the collected coins to the account of the "UAnimals" fund, as well as detailed information on the conditions of participation in the campaign and events for educational institutions.

In particular, educational events for educational institutions will be held within the framework of the campaign, namely:

• the educational challenge "DobroBingo: We Help Animals", during which participants will perform simple tasks on the topic of humane treatment of animals and do good deeds to support them, uniting them in a line on a bingo card;
• creation of the wall newspaper "Budget of Care" is an educational initiative that helps students understand in a creative way the importance of budget planning and a responsible attitude towards caring for pets. Students calculate the annual budget for keeping a cat or dog, which contributes to the development of financial literacy, skills in planning their expenses, and the ability to make informed decisions.

UAnimals is an organization that saves animals and the environment from war and human cruelty. Currently, the team is actively saving animals from war: evacuating, delivering food and medicine, and rebuilding shelters.

Also, during its existence, the organization has managed to ban traveling circuses with animals in more than 30 cities in Ukraine. As a result of negotiations between UAnimals and Ukrainian clothing brands, dozens of designers have pledged not to use fur in their collections. UAnimals is working on legislative changes: in particular, it managed to participate in banning fireworks, photo services with animals, strengthening administrative and criminal liability, etc.
