Open Banking is now available in the FUIB app

Open Banking is now available in the FUIB mobile app. This new digital service for Ukraine allows customers to view accounts held with different banks, check balances, review transaction history, and initiate payments within a single mobile application.
In practice, Open Banking changes the very way customers interact with banks. Instead of constantly switching between different banking apps, users can now manage multiple banks through a single interface.
Open Banking is already widely used across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America.
In Ukraine, FUIB became the first bank to receive regulatory authorization from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) as part of the Open Banking framework and the first bank to make the service available to customers.
"FUIB invests heavily in modern banking technologies and has always been an advocate for bringing innovation to its customers. Today, we are proud to announce the arrival of Open Banking in Ukraine, made possible with the support and initiative of the National Bank of Ukraine. FUIB was the first bank to receive authorization from the regulator as an Open Banking service provider. Starting today, FUIB customers can add accounts from other banks to the FUIB app, manage all their finances through a single interface, make transfers, review transaction history, and much more.
This is a completely new experience for Ukraine and one that will significantly simplify our customers’ lives. We understand that most Ukrainians have two or three active banking apps on their smartphones. It is not always easy to remember where money was spent, how much remains in each account, and which bank holds which balance. Now FUIB customers will be able to see everything in one place. To experience this new generation of banking, all you need to do is become a FUIB customer," - says Dmytro Polishchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Retail Banking at FUIB.
How It Works
At launch, FUIB customers will be able to:
– access information about their accounts held with PrivatBank and A-Bank through the FUIB app (the list of connected banks will be expanded over time)
– initiate payment transactions from those accounts directly within the FUIB app
– view transaction history for the past month
To access these features, customers simply need to update their FUIB mobile application.
To launch the service, FUIB developed new internal services and Open API solutions. The team implemented enhancements both at the backend level and within the mobile application's user interface.
What Open Banking Brings to Ukraine
The core idea behind Open Banking is to eliminate the need for customers to use multiple banking applications simultaneously.
Users will be able to:
– view accounts from different banks in one place
– monitor balances
– review transaction history
– initiate payments from different accounts through a single application
For individuals, this means simpler and more convenient personal finance management. The service will later become available to corporate clients as well.
For businesses, Open Banking will provide a new level of centralized account, payment, and financial process management.
Ultimately, Open Banking creates a new customer experience in Ukraine – faster, more convenient, and more digital.
How Customers Control Access to Their Accounts
One of the key principles of Open Banking is giving customers full control over their own data.
Access to accounts is managed both through the FUIB app and through the app of the bank that services the customer's account.
Customers decide:
– which accounts can be accessed
– what information can be shared
– how long access remains valid
Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Customer Data Remains Protected and Existing Banking Limits Stay Unchanged
Open Banking operates strictly within the requirements established by the National Bank of Ukraine regarding data protection and financial security.
All actions are performed only after user authentication and based on an active customer consent, which can be revoked at any time.
At the same time, Open Banking does not change any existing banking limits or transaction rules. Payment limits, security checks, and transaction confirmations remain under the control of the bank that services the customer's account.
Within this model, FUIB simply initiates the transmission of a payment instruction on behalf of the customer.
