FUIB and Ukrzaliznytsia held an event dedicated to the 4th anniversary of medical wagons

On March 12, a landmark event took place in the Exhibition Space on track 14 of the Kyiv Railway Station — the 4th anniversary of the launch of the first medical cars of Ukrzaliznytsia. The event brought together railway workers, military doctors, veterans and partners, including FUIB Bank, which systematically supports initiatives to help wounded defenders.

From the first car to autonomous resuscitation

The history of medical evacuation began on March 8, 2022, when in just 4 short days an old passenger car turned into the first rescue space. Today, the Ukrzaliznytsia fleet already has 70 medical cars, including unique intensive care cars equipped with everything necessary: ​​ventilators, oxygen stations and operating rooms, which allow saving lives right on the move. No other railway in the world has such a large number of medical rolling stock.

At the event, railway workers showed the first medical car, created in the first days of the full-scale invasion, which was already saving lives in early March 2022. They also presented a 10-seat car and a 5-seat intensive care car, built in 2025. The medical cars demonstrate how joint efforts create a system that saves lives every day. It united railway workers, doctors, international organizations, charitable foundations and volunteers.

A special moment was the performance of veterans - Dmytro Linartovych, Serhiy Mamzin, Valentyn Oleksienko and Vladyslav Blazhchuk. They shared their own experience of evacuation by "trains of life" and received gifts from FUIB.

The event was attended by:

• Serhiy Chernenko, Chairman of the Board of FUIB Bank, who spoke about how the bank supports wounded servicemen.
• Oleksandr Pertsovsky, Chairman of the Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, who emphasized the importance of medical evacuation cars as a unique humanitarian mission of Ukrainian Railways - a life-saving project.
• Dmytro Komarov, who presented a fragment of his film about the details of medical evacuation unknown to the general public.
• Christopher Stokes ("Doctors Without Borders"), who emphasized in a video message the uniqueness of the Ukrainian experience for the whole world.
• Iryna Soloshenko, a volunteer doctor who participated in the creation and equipping of the first cars, spoke about the folk character of this project.

The musical accompaniment of the event was provided by the “Cultural Forces”. The performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and original compositions by the servicemen reminded all those present of the price of each flight and the indomitability of the Ukrainian spirit.

Live towards: how FUIB supports defenders

For over two years, as part of the “We Are of the Same Blood” project, FUIB has been providing the wounded with adaptive clothing. These are special items with Velcro fasteners that allow medics to quickly provide assistance, and the wounded to maintain their dignity and feel supported even in the most difficult moments. To date, more than 8,300 units of adaptive clothing have been transferred to evacuation trains and hospitals. The bank is also developing the “Live towards” platform, which is responsible for the high-quality and comprehensive integration of veterans into financial processes, labor relations, entrepreneurship, and society in general.

The event proved once again: when the public sector, big business, volunteers, and international partners unite, projects are created that can change the world for the better.
