FUIB and Oschadbank have joined forces to save the lives of Ukrainians

During the winter holidays, blood donations traditionally decrease, while the need remains critically high. Especially now. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the need for donor blood has increased by 60%, while the number of donors has hardly changed. Today, only a third of patients in Ukraine receive blood on time. For others, it could be the best Christmas present.

That is why, for the first time in Ukrainian history, two systemically important banks have joined forces to draw attention to the problem of donation and help overcome the blood shortage during the most difficult period of the year. When you do good, there is no room for competition.

Under the slogan "Good deeds unite and overcome barriers," banks are calling on Ukrainians to join and support those who are fighting for their lives right now - primarily military and civilian patients who need donated blood.

On December 19 and 20, a mobile donor hub will be operating in a large double-decker bus near the branches of FUIB and Oschadbank in Kyiv at 103 Velyka Vasylkivska Street.

On the lower floor of the hub is the first interactive space in Ukraine dedicated to blood donation. Here you can find out how much gold is in our blood, see your own warmth, and hear the stories of donors and recipients. Having learned more about donation and overcoming traditional fears and prejudices, everyone will be able to take a step towards those who need vital help. For this, a comfortable blood donation station operates on the second floor of the bus, where donors will be met by a professional medical team.

Representatives of the management of both banks and their teams joined the initiative "Christmas unites hearts". Despite their busy schedules, FUIB Chairman of the Board Serhiy Chernenko and Oschadbank Deputy Chairman of the Board Anton Tyutiun donated blood on December 19 at the mobile donor hub, demonstrating by their own example: everyone can and should save lives. On December 20, everyone who cares is waiting here. You can register for a donation online, choosing a convenient time from 9:00 to 14:00. The interactive exhibition is open from 9:00 to 18:00.

Serhiy Chernenko, Chairman of the Board of FUIB: "For us, this initiative is not a one-time event, but a continuation of efforts aimed at developing a culture of systemic donation in Ukraine. Donation does not require much effort, but it can become a real Christmas miracle and save someone's life. Think about the fact that your blood is the best gift for those who need it. We made sure that making this gift was as simple as possible. Come!".

Anton Tyutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank: "Large banks can unite for an important cause. This initiative is for everyone who needs help, but it is especially important for the defenders of Ukraine. Every drop of donated blood can be decisive, can help avoid amputations and reduce the risk of disability after injuries. So do not remain indifferent."
