FUIB partnered with the annual CFO Forum-2025

First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB) partnered with Ukraine's largest industry event for financial directors, the CFO Forum 2025, which took place on October 23-24 in Kyiv.
The 23rd forum once again brought together more than seven hundred participants representing large, medium, and small companies from various sectors of the economy, a significant portion of which are PUMB clients.
Galyna Onyshchuk, Director of the Corporate Business Department at FUIB, took part in the event's panel discussion on the topic ‘Is growth possible during wartime? CEOs and CFOs on the investment front line.’
Yuriy Sorochynskyi, CEO of Nemiroff, and Volodymyr Garazd, CEO of Goro Mountain Resort, also joined the discussion. Yulia Kiryanova, also CEO with many years of experience in corporate governance and strategic transformations, acted as moderator.
Firstly, the panel participants noted that Ukrainian businesses have adapted to the changes in wartime conditions. "The Ukrainian economy is now an economy of stability, which has acquired such key features as the ability to adapt, relocate, and search for new markets. One of the factors contributing to this resilience is the banking system. Banks' loan portfolios are growing, which is a powerful stimulus for business," said Galyna Onyshchuk.
Among other financing instruments, the panel participants also mentioned project financing. One of the cases is the project between FUIB and Goro Mountain Resort, signed at the end of last year.
‘When we make financing decisions, we first assess the sustainability of the business model. It must work, deliver results, and be based on the experience of a team that has already implemented successful projects. We support those who have proven their effectiveness, have a reputation and credit history, which today is becoming a real asset for the company,’ said Galyna Onyshchuk.
The discussion also touched on joint investment projects, in particular the combination of private and bank financing with the involvement of external investors. In such projects, banks are taking a new approach, providing financing not only against collateral, but also against the business model and future real estate properties.
At the end of the discussion, the participants shared their recommendations and expectations regarding the role of the CFO in today's environment and their most striking cases in recent years.
