From the first days of the full scale war, FUIB has been supporting Ukrainian defenders. In 2023, the bank invested UAH 87.4 million in assistance to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, and the Security Service of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the amount of this support by the bank amounted to more than UAH 167 million.

Leonid Skalozub, Deputy Chairman of the Board of FUIB for security issues, commented on the provision of assistance: "For almost two years, the bank has been promptly responding to the requests of units from hot spots. In 2023, there was an urgent need for defenders in various unmanned aerial vehicles, from the simplest FPV drones to powerful long-range UAVs. The need for equipment to control "birds" and to combat enemy drones was also monitored. The defenders needed tools and spare parts for the repair of EW systems, communication equipment, vehicles - from pickup trucks to evacuation helicopters. Our continued support not only strengthens the country's defense capabilities, but also saves the lives of soldiers at zero and civilians in peaceful cities."

In 2023, the following were purchased with bank financing at the request of units: 374 drones, 6 thermal imagers, 14 units of communication equipment, 177 units of equipment for combating enemy drones and for the repair of unmanned attack systems, 21 units of tools and parts for the repair of air defense equipment, 6 vehicles and paid half medevac etc.

In 2023, FUIB joined national mega-bids twice - for kamikaze drones for "Birds of Magyar" and for drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with the Serhiy Prytula Foundation. In addition, before Independence Day, FUIB, together with the SSU, customers, friends and partners, raised 60 million for the production of the first batch of 33 powerful long-range Morok unmanned aerial vehicles. The drones were handed over to special forces of the SOC "A" of the SSU, in particular, the "White Wolf" unit.

Among the partners of FUIB in supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine are both large well-known charitable foundations and small volunteer organizations. All together we are doing one big and important thing.

Svitlana Denisenko, CEO of KSE Charitable Foundation: "FUIB joined the collection of students of Kyiv School of Economics together with KSE Foundation and DefDev for medical helicopters for the Main Directorate of Intelligence. The bank transferred UAH 11 million to organize the rapid evacuation of the seriously wounded from the battlefield. Also, the bank's contribution of 300,000 hryvnias was directed to the purchase of a system for healing wounds under negative pressure. The device was handed over to the military hospital in Vinnytsia region, it promotes faster healing of wounds and burns of various severity and has already helped dozens of defenders. Support of the bank saves lives!".

The team of the volunteer community "Svoyih ne lyshayemo": "The total amount of assistance provided by FUIB to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with us amounted to UAH 1.8 million. Our humble thanks for 6 DJI Mavic 3 drones, 5 thermal imagers, 2 DJI Mavic 3T drones, one pickup and a whole bunch of the most necessary equipment for the front, which, thanks to joint efforts, managed to hand over to the defenders. We appreciate every moment of cooperation!".

In 2023, caring Ukrainians transferred more than UAH 176 million to charitable funds for the support of defenders through various channels of FUIB.

FUIB is a partner of the NBU "Brave Hryvnia" charity campaign. From September 4 to December 8, 2023, the collection of coins for their mobilization to the front continued throughout Ukraine. In three months, Ukrainians together collected 4.3 million hryvnias in coins. More than half a million hryvnias were transferred through FUIB branches in coins and transferred to a special account of the NBU for the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
