80 students from different regions of Ukraine completed the Data Analysis from FUIB pilot course of the Academy of Analytics. FUIB invited 14 graduate analysts to their first job in their specialty. The course aroused great interest among young people receiving basic education in data analytics. FUIB will continue to invest in education of the youth, providing the opportunity to study online for free at the FUIB Academy of Analytics in 2022.

The course aroused great interest and showed a high demand among young people who receive basic education in the field of data analytics. The competition was 18 people per place. Over 2,000 applications were submitted; more than 1,000 interviews were conducted. After a two-stage selection, 120 students were enrolled.

“Nobody forces us to study in our course; the students are driven by their own interest and motivation. Graduates of the course are motivated purposeful young boys and girls who have the most important components of today - the ability to self-organize and learn. We are very proud to be able to help these young people,” commented Anna Sukhomlyn, Project Manager, Head of FUIB's Personnel Selection and Adaptation Department. 

Students gained hard skills with tools such as SSRS & Power BI for data visualization, SQL, Python, VBA for data analysis, RPA and SharePoint for process automation. Students of the course also mastered the creation of Data Science models and Machine Learning. Students received such targeted specializations as Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Business Analyst.

In reviews of the course, graduates noted that it is a useful educational and practical format and especially because it was developed by bank experts and professors of the Kyiv School of Economics.

In order to interest young people and offer a course that is convenient for learning, the organizers made it as relevant as possible to the needs of students: The course takes place during June in free time from the main training (after 16.00), gives the opportunity to practice on the cases of real business, to try oneself not in one, but in two directions.

In addition, the course gives a boost to your career: some graduates get a job at FUIB, others get a recommendation to work in other companies, because the bank is interested in boosting their careers. 

"Both business and Ukrainian youth have their gain in this project.  We were able to boost the careers of young professionals and offer the first job to talented graduate analysts. The effect and interest in the project exceeded our wildest expectations. We plan to continue investing in young people and continue the Academy project," – said Deputy Chair of the Board for Human Resources Tetyana Kostiuchenko.

Based on the results of students' activity, their success and feedback from mentors, FUIB selected the 14 most successful students and offered them jobs. These are students from Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University, Kyiv Vadim Hetman National Economic University, Igor Sikorsky KPI, Kharkiv Karazin National University, Kharkiv University of Radio Electronics, O.M.Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv Ivan Franko National University, National Aviation University and University of Banking.  

Oleksandr Lopata, a graduate of the course who is now a FUIB employee: "My classmates and I got a unique opportunity and useful knowledge. I am grateful to the bank for the opportunity to work in a real business environment, for meeting students from all over Ukraine and for the special atmosphere in which you want to study and work. Now that I have become a FUIB employee, I understand that there is a lot of responsible work ahead: I am excited and want to live up to the expectations my employer has of me. But I am really proud of this personal victory, because I have my first job in a top bank, the professionalism of which is known to the entire banking sector."

The competitive selection of 2021 was attended by students, graduates of technical and economic universities of the following specialties: economic cybernetics, applied systems analysis, mathematical analysis and other specialties. Basic knowledge of analytics was a mandatory condition for all applicants.

Lectures were delivered by FUIB's mentors who are leading experts in various areas of analytics.

Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), whose professors were involved in the development of the curriculum and taught students during the Data Analysis from FUIB course, was the strategic partner of the FUIB Analytics Academy. In one month, students gained practical skills in working with databases based on real cases with depersonalized data.

The start of enrollment in the Academy of Analytics for next year will be announced in the spring of 2022.
