31 oxygen concentrators will be delivered to "Cherkasy City Infectious Diseases Hospital", "Korosten Central City Hospital of Korosten City Council", "V.P. Pavlusenko Hospital No.2” of Zhytomyr City Council, “Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No.9” of the executive body of Kyiv City Council, “Chernihiv Central District Hospital” of Chernihiv District Council, “Mykola Halytskyi Nizhyn Central City Hospital” of Nizhyn City Council.

This equipment is vital for the treatment of patients with moderate severity of the disease. 10-liter oxygen concentrator KSOC-5 by Jiangsu Konsung Bio-Medical Science and Technology Co. Ltd. can simultaneously provide two patients who need oxygen support during COVID-19 treatment. This safe to use and energy-saving model of oxygen concentrator will be useful even after the pandemic: it can be used to treat not only respiratory diseases, but also cardiovascular and cerebral vascular systems diseases and hypoxia.

"FUIB seeks to help hospitals fight COVID-19, to support patients and doctors. Together with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the bank will deliver 31 oxygen concentrators to 6 hospitals in 4 regions of the northern region. This is the territory of our business and our native land. A total of 140 concentrators will be delivered by our team to 27 hospitals in different regions of Ukraine in December. We believe that modern equipment will save the lives of Ukrainians and contribute to the development of Ukraine's medical system," said Serhiy Sotnichenko, Head of FUIB's Branch No.2 in Zhytomyr.

"The medical community is very grateful for the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation's earlier assistance to the hospital in the form of a ventilator. The oxygen concentrators that our hospitals will receive today will save many lives and will be useful after overcoming the pandemic for the treatment of patients with pulmonary pathology," said the director of the "V.P. Pavlusenko Hospital No. 2” of Zhytomyr City Council Ihor Kukharuk.

"From the first days of the spread of coronavirus disease in Zhytomyr city united territorial community, local authorities have done everything possible to provide hospitals with everything necessary to combat the previously unknown infection: we provided medical workers with personal protective equipment, the departments with disinfectants and medicines, and medical equipment. More than UAH 36 million was allocated from the local budget to overcome COVID-19. City healthcare facilities are supported by representatives of local businesses. The hospital received charitable assistance in kind in the amount of UAH 13 million. The partnership of government, business and the charitable foundation, in particular First Ukrainian International Bank and the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, is a great example of joint efforts to overcome the pandemic," said Zhytomyr Deputy Mayor Mariia Misyurova.

We would like to remind that in early December, FUIB, in partnership with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, transferred high-quality ventilator to the intensive care unit of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No.4. And in the spring of 2020, we purchased medical equipment and personal protective gear for hospitals in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A total of 156 hospitals in Eastern and Western Ukraine received aid. The bank and the Foundation handed over to medical facilities 2 ventilators, 2 invasive patient monitors, more than 47,000 protective suits, 4,400 personal protective gear kits, 1,200 sanitizers, and 650 pulse oximeters. In addition, the bank provided 1,500 doctors in 9 reference hospitals at its own expense with StopCoronavirus insurance.

When Ukraine faced the pandemic, Rinat Akhmetov was the first to come to the help. He combined the resources of the Charitable Foundation, DTEK, FC Shakhtar, FUIB and other SCM assets. Due to this, 300 million hryvnias were allocated to help the country in the fight against coronavirus. This is the largest contribution of one philanthropist to public medicine. For effective work, the Foundation created the Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine project, which became part of the Rinat Akhmetov - Saving Lives program. The project has no analogues in the country. This is the largest, most systematic and large-scale private initiative aimed at helping public health facilities to fight coronavirus.
