FUIB has joined the global initiative of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation to help Ukrainian hospitals in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, and has supported clinics in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

FUIB, in partnership with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, purchased essential equipment and personal protective equipment for hospitals treating coronavirus patients. Several thousand oximeters, pulse oximeters, sanitizers, and over 20,000 of personal protective equipment (glasses, respirators, overalls, surgical gowns, gloves, long shoe covers) will be transferred to hospitals in different regions of Ukraine by the end of April for the purpose of providing medical assistance to patients with COVID-19. A ventilator will also be transferred to one of the hospitals in the Western Region.

“Ukrainian business today needs to be actively involved in the fight against the coronavirus, that is, to do everything possible to help our doctors, who had to take the brunt of combating the COVID-19 epidemic. The eastern regions are the most vulnerable, since it was affected by the conflict. On the other hand, in the western regions, the morbidity rate is high. We are pleased to support the initiative of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and to help residents of the west and east of Ukraine. We also call on the representatives of other businesses not to stay away and to unite for the sake of overcoming the common plight,” said Serhiy Chernenko, FUIB's chairman of the board.

On April 10, FUIB together with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation will hand over the first batch of 8,000 sets of personal protective equipment to the doctors of four hospitals in Lviv.

We would like to remind you that Rinat Akhmetov has allocated UAH 300 million for the fight against COVID-19. For this purpose, he has combined all resources – the resources of the Charitable Foundation, FC Shakhtar, FUIB, DTEK, Metinvest, and other SCM assets – in order to help Ukraine. 300 thousand coronavirus rapid tests, specialized protective equipment for doctors, high-quality lung ventilators, etc., have been purchased for the entire country.
