According to the performance results for 2014 First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB) retained its leading positions on the market of documentary transactions. The fee and commission income amounted to UAH 66.1 mln, which ensured the position of FUIB among TOP 5 Ukrainian banks by volume  and profit from documentary transactions.

Konstantin Kamarali, the Head of Trade Finance and Documentary Transactions Department of FUIB: “Last year was the most difficult of all 20 years of our work on the market of documentary transactions. Significant devaluation of the national currency and military actions in Donbass created  unprecedentedly complicated conditions for work. Nevertheless, we managed to retain the volumes of transactions and attracted new clients due to better conditions and service quality. In 2015 we will offer new services such as guarantees for distributors of foreign companies and guarantees for agricultural
companies”. 

In recent months, the cost of credits increased significantly due to deficit of hryvna liquidity in the banking system. In such circumstances especially important become trade credits which are payments suspended for 30-60 days after receiving the goods. Many manufactures are ready to provide such a  delay, but only upon the receipt of banking guarantee. Therefore, banking guarantees are not just insurance for non-payment risks, but also a profitable  alternative to lending.
