Economic support

With the outbreak of a full-scale war, to support customers, FUIB introduced loan repayment holidays and reduced or abolished some service fees. Of course, this had a negative impact on interest and commission income. The bank was forced to close branches in the combat zone, but service in remote channels did not stop. The general decline in business activity also affected the bank's profitability.

Despite the difficult conditions, businesses pay taxes to the state budget. During the 110 days of the war, FUIB timely transferred UAH 719 million to the state budget. In addition, in April and March the bank paid more than UAH 299 million in taxes to support the economy and the Ukrainian army.

During the war, FUIB continues to lend to the agribusiness which carry on with sowing. And at the first opportunity, the bank repairs and opens branches in the liberated territories. Out of 250 branches, 182 are already operating today.

Saving the team

People are the most valuable asset of business. Since the beginning of the war, FUIB has tried to keep the team, which is more than 8,000 employees: the bank paid salaries to everyone, even to those who could not work. Currently, some colleagues work in dangerous regions and receive a salary increase. The bank provides financial assistance to employees in the event of loss or damage to housing, injuries to employees and the death of members of their families as a result of hostilities. If it is impossible to work in own position due to hostilities, destruction or occupation, FUIB helps its colleagues to find work in other branches of the bank. Investments in financial assistance and allowances to employees have already amounted to over UAH 80 million.

115 FUIB employees defend Ukraine's independence in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in the Territorial Defense. They have retained their positions and salaries. The bank and the team help their colleagues with military ammunition. FUIB bought bulletproof vests for its fighters for over UAH 1.3 million. And the team created the Fund for Assistance to Mobilized Employees and purchased military equipment for UAH 800,000.

Assistance to the armed forces

From the first days of the war, FUIB has been financially providing procurement for the military. As of today, this assistance has been provided as response to 70 applications from regular and special units of the Armed Forces, Territorial Defense, Emergency Services, National Police and Security Service of Ukraine. More than 71.5 million hryvnias were spent on bulletproof vests, helmets, gas masks, thermal imagers, tactical backpacks and gloves, copters, cars and fuel, medicine and food for the military. The bank handed over 40% of the armored vehicles to special units of the Armed Forces, the National Police and the Territorial Defense to protect the territory of the state and provide humanitarian aid. FUIB will continue to support the fight against the Russian aggressor.

In total, since the beginning of the war, FUIB, together with other SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the Shakhtar football club, has donated more than UAH 2.4 billion to Ukraine and Ukrainians. In particular, this amount includes humanitarian aid to civilians, as well as support for the Armed Forces and the Territorial Defense Forces in dozens of cities.

The work of services to support the state

The bank's clients do not stay away from helping our state. Since the beginning of the war, FUIB has organized the possibility of quick transfer of any amount without a commission in support of Ukrainian soldiers through the PUMB Online mobile application, the PayHub payment platform and the cash desks of working branches. FUIB is a financial partner of many charitable foundations. Not indifferent Ukrainians have already transferred more than 261 million hryvnias through the bank.

As a primary bank dealer, FUIB launched a service to sell military public bonds to support Ukraine's budget by investing. They can be purchased by corporate clients at FUIB's Digital Business Internet Banking. Individuals can purchase publlic bonds at the nearest bank branches, and further purchases can also be made remotely. 511 clients of the bank have already applied for the purchase, the total amount of their investments in public bonds amounted to over UAH 329 million, USD 2.4 million and EUR 233 thousand.
