Students of grades 9-10 from all over Ukraine met with successful people representing the service sector. The career meeting was attended by a police officer, a teacher, a psychologist, a hotel manager and a lawyer. The second meeting with successful representatives of various fields took place on May 7 as part of the My Career in Ukraine all-Ukrainian project organized by the Center for CSR Development together with Career Hub and FUIB.

"For the sixth consecutive year, we are implementing My Career in Ukraine project. Now I cannot imagine Ukraine without it. We are doing this project to make young people stay in Ukraine to develop it. We want teenagers to become the driving force that will change our country for the better,” said Maryna Saprykina, Chair of the Board of the CSR Development Center.

138 participants took part in the career meeting of service sector. The teenagers got acquainted with successful people and stories from their professional lives. Specialists shared their knowledge, experience and advice.

"The hotel business inspires me. In my opinion, it is very important that people who work in this field love what they do. After all, the atmosphere in the hotel is created not by the interior, but by the staff,” said Myroslava Zhuravlyova, the manager of the Reikartz Zhytomyr hotel.

"A lawyer does not have to know everything. A competent lawyer may not immediately provide an answer to a question in which he does not specialize, but he must know exactly where to find that answer. To be successful, you need to study all your life, because quick victories usually happen, but they do not last long,” said Dmytro Martynovskyi, Deputy Director of the FUIB Legal Department.

"A really good teacher should be inquisitive, interested in everything around and discover something new every day," said Nataliya Kidalova, a non-formal education trainer for youth and adults and a teacher of English and Ukrainian.

In addition to interesting lectures from specialists, there were also practical tasks. The teenagers presented their vision of professions in the service sector and received feedback. Now they have to do their homework – a mini-study on the vision of their profession in 10 years.

The participants will take part in meetings with representatives of the creative, media, economic and industrial spheres where we have invited interesting and well-known representatives of these industries.

We would like to remind that a final conference is planned after a series of career meetings. Only 30 of the most active teenagers will come to the meeting in Kyiv and spend one day with their idols - heads of enterprises, international organizations, government agencies, as well as win useful gifts from the organizers!
