Maryna Saprykina, chair of the board of Centre for CSR Development Ukraine, said: “For the fifth consecutive year, My Career in Ukraine project has been giving teenagers, including those from small towns and villages, the opportunity to communicate with heads of large organizations. This year, despite the change of events to online, in addition to the traditional meetings with the top managers, we have expanded the project with additional features: webinars about the professions of the future, a blogging course and an interactive online quest.”

In 2020, we received over 1,000 essays from tenth-graders about their future profession. This year, the TOP-5 of the most popular professions included: doctor, journalist, teacher, programmer and lawyer.

The authors of 300 best works participated in 6 regional meetings, and 60 most active of them were invited to take part in the final online conference with top managers on September 24. Serhiy Chernenko, FUIB's chairman of the Board, Nadiya Omelchenko, vice president of IT Integrator, and Victoria Yarmoschuk, CEO of FILM.UA Group, shared their advice with teenagers. In addition, participants joined teams, made creative videos and competed for useful prizes as part of an online quest.

Serghiy Chernenko, FUIB's chairman of the Board, stressed: “The professional path is an important part of a person's life, their self-knowledge, the formation of principles and values. It is necessary to constantly invest in yourself, in your education, and personal development. Do not expect quick victories. Change your life for the better around you with small good deeds. Do not be afraid of mistakes, but use them as an opportunity to become stronger and an incentive not to stop there. Recognition comes only as a result of personal and professional growth. When you become a real expert, success will surely find you.” 

And the next day, September 25, the winners had a unique opportunity to have online meetings with their idol who is an expert in the profession they have chosen. People and organizations whom the participants met included: UNIT City Managing Partner Kostiantyn Yevtushenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Austria Oleksandr Shcherba, FUIB's Chairman Serhiy Chernenko, Democratic Initiatives Foundation Scientific Director Oleksiy Haran, Architect Slava Balbek, Projector Founder Oleksandr Trehub, Zagoriy Foundation Director Yevheniya Mazurenko and editor-in-chief of Ukrayinska Pravda Sevgil Musaeva. As well as leading managers and experts of FUIB, Kyivstar, Arzinger, 1+1 media, Arterium, Ukrainian Film School, Vetplaneta, NAS of Ukraine, UNICEF and the National Police.

“I am very grateful to the team of the My Career in Ukraine project for this opportunity. All the speakers were very sincere. The same Oleksandr Shcherba, who at first glance may seem like a very serious diplomat, calmly says that he is trying to figure out how to "like" a page on Instagram,” said Yan Erl-Ruzhytsky, the winner of the project.

“I realized that you should always strive to develop and learn, both when you are a graduate and when you are a top manager. At meetings with famous people, I was surprised that despite the high positions, they remain themselves, interesting and open, sincerely love their work and this is inspiring,” said Evelina Chykalova, the winner of the project.
