On April 16, FUIB, in partnership with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, handed over 8,000 sets of personal protective gear to hospitals in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Protective overalls were received by doctors from thirty-three clinics working with COVID-19 coronavirus patients. Among them are four reference hospitals in Ivano-Frankivsk: Municipal non-profit enterprise "Regional Clinical Center for Emergency and Disaster Medicine of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council", Municipal non-profit enterprise "Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Clinical Infectious Hospital", Municipal non-profit enterprise "Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Phthisiopulmonology Center", Municipal non-profit enterprise "Central City Clinical Hospital of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council".
“The Ivano-Frankivsk region is among those who took the first and most hard blow in the fight against the COVID-19 coronavirus. Today, we have handed over a batch of 8,000 sets of personal protective gear to the doctors of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. We do not stop calling on other businesses to join the fight against the epidemic and support our doctors in every way possible,” said Serhiy Chernenko, FUIB's chairman of the board.
“The situation in the fight against the spread of coronavirus in our region remains one of the most difficult in the country. Today, we have 401 confirmed cases of COVID-19 disease and 4 lethal cases for the last 24 hours. Therefore, the issue of personal protection for physicians is extremely important. The regional administration together with local self-government bodies makes every effort to ensure the protection of our doctors, but we cannot do without the attention and assistance of the President of Ukraine, and the heads of the state. Therefore, the fact that the representatives of big business have responded to the call of the Office of the President and gives the help that we urgently need is pleasing,” said Vitaliy Fedorov who is temporarily assuming the responsibilities of the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration.
We would like to remind that on April 10, FUIB together with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation handed over the first batch of 8,000 sets of personal protective equipment to the doctors of four reference hospitals in Lviv.
Rinat Akhmetov has allocated UAH 300 million for the fight against COVID-19. For this purpose, he has combined all resources - the resources of the Charitable Foundation, FC Shakhtar, FUIB, DTEK, Metinvest, and other SCM assets - in order to help Ukraine. 300,000 coronavirus rapid tests, specialized protective equipment for doctors, high-quality lung ventilators, etc. have been purchased for the entire country. As part of this initiative, FUIB supported clinics in the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Donetsk and Luhansk regions and purchased several thousand oximeters, pulse oximeters, sanitizers, and more than 20,000 of personal protective equipment (glasses, respirators, overalls, surgical gowns, gloves, long shoe covers). This equipment will be transferred to hospitals in different regions of Ukraine by the end of April to provide medical assistance to COVID-19 patients. In addition, two lung ventilators will be transferred to hospitals in western regions.
