First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB) and CSR Ukraine, CSR Development Center expert organization, Career Hub in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine held the second regional conference of My Career in Ukraine Competition for students of 10th grades of secondary schools of Ukraine.

My Career in Ukraine is an all-Ukrainian project which provides opportunities for self-realization of youth in Ukraine, inspires professional development and creates a platform for passing on the experience of successful people to the young generation.

In 2020, we received around 1,000 essays from tenth-graders about their future profession. The authors of 360 best works will participate in 6 regional meetings, and 60 most active of them will be invited to take part in the All-Ukrainian Conference in Kyiv, where the tenth-graders will meet famous people and discuss their future professions.

At the second My Career in Ukraine Regional Conference, 60 authors of the best essays from Volyn, Lviv, Ternopil, Chernivstsi, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Khmelnytskyi regions met top managers of national companies and received tips on how to become successful in Ukraine.

MARYNA SAPRYKINA, head of the Center for the Development of Corporate Social Responsibility, noted: “For the fifth consecutive year, My Career in Ukraine project gives tenth-graders the opportunity to express their views on the professional future and meet top executives of companies. This is a chance to gain real life experience in order to bring your career plans to life.”

This year, the TOP-5 professions included: doctor, journalist, teacher, programmer and lawyer.

In the panel discussion “Life Hacks from Top Managers: How to Build a Successful Career", tenth-graders received recommendations from top speakers which will help them choose and build careers.

ANDRIY BORDIAN, Head of FUIB Lviv Regional Center, advised young people to constantly improve themselves: “Choose your walk of life and not the profession. You can always change your profession, but not the way of life. Today, permanent development is an obligatory part of success, because your yesterday's skills may become unnecessary tomorrow.

ROMAN KIZYMA, a pediatric oncologist at the Western Ukrainian Specialized Pediatric Medical Center, stressed the importance of choosing “own” profession: “Build a career only in the sphere you like and invest time and money in your own development.”

MARIA TYTARENKO, founder of the Master's Program in Media Communications at UCU advised to clearly plan own career goals: “Choosing a path, you should make for yourself short- and long-term career goals and move toward their realization: what competences are to be acquired, what additional skills and knowledge are to be gained, what practical training to go through, etc.”

During the meeting, students told about their motivation to participate in the My Career in Ukraine regional conference.

“I came to this project to make sure I really found my profession and to identify my strengths. I want the phrase “Never give up!” to become the motto of this regional conference,” shared his impressions Yan Erl-Ruzhytskyi, a participant in the Lviv conference.

“The tenth-graders have the opportunity to reflect on their professional goals, in particular on their implementation. Many students already know what profession to bind their future with, but they cannot yet say openly. “My career in Ukraine” is the impetus for future career advancement,” added Lyudmyla Kuzmych, teacher at Pavlivskyi Lyceum.

During the conference, the participants also took part in the Bank of the Future game, through which they got acquainted with the trends of the future. The tenth graders who chose the financial sphere visited FUIB Lviv Regional Center.
