First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB) took part in the competition BEST CIO, which is annually held by the portal «Kompyuternoye obozreniye». According to the results of the competition  Dmitriy Okhota, FUIB's Head of the Information Technologies Department, became the leader in the category "Defeating the circumstances", and also received a special award Best CIO-2014 in the category "Major banks", at the awards ceremony, which took place on January 22, 2015.

According to the results of the competition the winners were determined in 11 categories, that is, IT-Directors, who have achieved the greatest success in their areas over the past year.  Given the unprecedented challenges faced by Ukrainian business, the competition organizers under the auspices of Ukrtelecom competition partner approved the nomination "Defeating the circumstances."

With regard to the exacerbation of the situation in the east, FUIB did extensive work to transport the data processing center equipment from Donetsk and to run it in a safe place. For the major bank data processing is crucial for smooth functioning and provision of services for the customers. During the transfer of the data center, bank services were unavailable for customers at night for 45 min., which had practically no impact on the provision of services. During only few days a new data center has been fully created at the new site with a minimum time of bank services interruption, which provided stable provision of services for the customers throughout Ukraine.

"Within the framework of FUIB's existing system of providing continuous activity, we carried out the transfer of the data center from Donetsk to Kiev. We were facing a very important task, that is, to resume the work of the data center in a new environment in few days. The Information Technologies Department has successfully fulfilled it. Creation of one more data center is among bank's short-term plans. This means that our customers will be receiving consistently high quality of services, regardless of the circumstances", - pointed out Dmitriy Okhota, FUIB's Head of the Information Technologies Department, winner in the nomination "Defeating circumstances» of the BEST CIO -2014.
