The state of the negotiation process to tackle the “fiscal cliff” problem in the US has become the main obstacle to further growth of financial markets during the previous week. Trading platforms in the US finished the week with a negative result, while European indices moved in a side trend for the most part of the week.

The current week will be the last full-fledged trading week at the end of 2012. The “fiscal cliff” problem will continue to be the center of investors’ attention as before.
